How do I get from Miami port to Ft lauderdale airport on Dec 17 (Sunday)?

After I get off the cruise boat at 9 am, I have all day to get to fort lauderdale. I dont want to rent a car or take a shuttle ride. Please advise trirail, bus and other mode of public transportation that will get me to Ft lauderdale to catch my 7pm flight. Thanks!

    If you insist:

Hitch a ride to the Bayside metro-mover station. Or take a cab to Metro-mover or to the Government center Metro-Rail station. There’s also a bus that runs downtown but I don’t know exactly where it stops — probably within a block of Government center. Metro-mover is free. At Bayside station, Take the Brickell Loop OR Inner loop to Government center Station. Go up one flight & pay $1.50 & board Northbound Metro-rail. Take that to Tri-Rail Transfer station. Buy your ticket to Dania Beach/FLL station. (app. $3.00-$4.00) At the station a free shuttle will meet the train (3 bags per person max) & take you to your airline terminal. Actual train running time for Metro-rail and Tri-rail is about 30 min. each. But M-R is at least 1/2 hr. between trains on Sunday
& Tri-Rail is a commuter line. It runs every half hour on weekdays but every two hours on Sunday, and there is nothing to do or eat at the Tri-Rail station. (tho’ it is safe). So worst case you can kill 3 – 4 hours in waiting & travel time.

A limo will cost at least a $100.00 — probably more. A Shuttle will cost about $40.00+ a person

    You CAN take municipal buses.
For schedules, routes & fares in Miami Go to: http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/metrobus.asp
You will have to transfer to Broward County Transit somewhere in North Dade or South Broward.
Go to http://www.broward.org/bct for their bus map.
All of these are very slow local buses. I don’t know of anyone who has ever actually done this by bus.

Edit: I’m told the port bus does not run Sundays.
