How long do you think it would take to bike from New York City to West Palm Beach, Florida?

I’m thinking of biking from my house in queens, ny to my uncle’s in west palm beach, fl and i wanna know how long it would take including the necessary rests, which would probably be about 10 hours a night altogether.

    Hmmmm
Most real bikers use 100 miles a day as their standard and having done a couple of 65 mile days on my bike I can tell you it will be while before you can work up to that standard
My best guess would be that it would take you about 3-4 weeks
The problem is that you can’t use the mapquest et al mileage figures to calculate your distances
Rather you have to calculate your distances using the roads that you can legally and safely ride a bike on
The use of bike-able routes only could easily double your mapquest mileage
Personally i would head over the GW , then deal with Newark and finally find Springsteen’s Rt 9 all the way Cape May >Take the ferry to DE
Down the delmarva peninsula , cross the Chesapeake just before the bay bridge tunnel
Head southeast to Norfolk/ virginia beach
    down the outer banks
    back to the mainland
and then stay with the ocean all the way to west palm
    safe trip

Well, according to Google Maps (see link, below), it’s 1260 miles, and, at about 50 miles per day, that would take 25+ days, but, since you probably won’t be able to do 50 miles per day for day after day after day after day after day like that, I’d figure on it taking more like 30-40 days or even more.

    Good luck!
