If you were a single mother fresh out of nursing school would you reocate to West Palm Beach Florida?

I live in the St Louis, Missouri area. I have never lived anywhere else but here & Chicago. I am bored here, tired of being here. I have been wanting to relocate for years but my family & friends say I shouldn’t move away because of the kids & cost f living and any other excuse but I am not happy here I feel like I am stuck. I feel like I haven’t explored anywhere else
Some people ask why West Palm well it looks nice seems nice i love beaches, water, sun, palm trees…what should I do

If you wanna go you should go. I would go to Fl secure a job, a place stay, and scope out the schools. Then if all works out the way you plan go for it, you’ll have fun. You can also try moving somewhere a bit closer to make sure you are really ready to be that far away from friends and family.

As a nurse, you could work anywhere. Your decision seems kind of spur of the moment. If you are just out of school, I would stay put and work to gain some experience, to make myself more marketable. In the meantime you would build your savings, have time to research the area you want to move to, such as cost of living, hospitals or other work available and schools for your kids.
Remember you would be alone, without family support. Moves are costly, especially crosscountry. Think it out!

I live about 100 miles west of St. Louis (in Effingham, IL), and I know exactly how mediocre midwest living can be. I live in a small town and there’s so many people that want to get out of here and move to a nicer city or a warmer state! I’m wish you on this and I wish I could move to Florida. I LOVE Florida!

If I were you, I would definately look in moving if it is something you’re seriously considering. Find out what kind of neighborhoods there are, what type of jobs, how the schools are, etc. I would suggest renting an apartment for a year and seeing if you like it. If you still like living there, then maybe you can look into more permanent housing if it seems right.

If West Palm Beach is out of your price range, then consider looking at another area of Florida. It could be close to West Palm Beach, but maybe closer in land and less beach. You could still be within a fast driving distance and the cost of living could be much lower.

Plus, if you decide that Florida’s not the right place for you, then you can always come back to St. Louis. It’s always nice to explore your options and that would be a great opportunity to try something new for a while.
