Freddie Mackey is a junior at Pope John Paul II High School (Boca Raton, FL). He has just completed another season filled with big plays on both sides of the ball. His speed, pass catching ability and football instincts are all in this display in this collection of highlights from the past two seasons. The Boca Raton (FL) High School Bobcats staged one of the most incredible rallies you’ll ever see in a first round playoff game in Class 4-A. The story comes from a clip from the Bobcats’ 2008 year-end highlight film. Down 21-0 with 8 minutes left, the Bobcats scored 4 times – offsetting another Fort Pierce touchdown to send the game into overtime at 28-28. Fort Pierce ultimately won in overtime, but it showed great character on the part of Boca Raton. Here are all the dramatic highlights, with Bobcat player interviews to add to the story. He was a star player for the West Boca Raton Bulls (Boca Raton, FL) in 2010, and now will be playing for the Virginia Tech Hokies. We’re sure he’ll be just as big a playmaker at the college level.

Mauro Bondi is an accomplished kicker who signed with the Nebraska Cornhuskers after completing his senior season at West Boca Raton High School in Boca Raton, FL. A finalist for the Lou Groza award for outstanding kicker in Palm Beach county, Bondi has racked up several other awards and notices of his kicking prowess. According to Kohl’s Kicking, he was the #3 kicker and #6 punter in the country in 2010; he ranked #8 out of 150 on ESPN’s list of top high school kickers; several D1 coaches stated that they had Bondi on the top of their board. And so on and so on. Here is a sampling of some of his kicks from the 2009 and 2010 seasons. He graduates in May of 2011 and will be kicking for the Nebraska Cornhuskers this fall.

Our company shoots a number of high school and youth football games each week, and the weekend of September 18, we took note of several plays: First, a kickoff returner for the West Boca Raton Bulls (Boca Raton, FL) drops the ball on the way for a long touchdown. He was able to recover it, but ended up at the 1 yard line. Second, a receiver for the Atlantic Eagles (Delray Beach, FL) grabbed a deflected pass out of the air for a long TD on 3rd down and 36; finally, a player for the Prep Steelers of the WCFL (Wellington, FL) lost his shoe but still ran for a touchdown.
